Financial Responsibility of Postulants for the Vocational Diaconate

$350 for psychological testing
$200 per academic course: Old Testament, New Testament, and Church History
$700 for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
$500 for miscellaneous expenses: books, mileage, spiritual direction/retreat, etc.

FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE

According to diocesan canon, a parish that sponsors a candidate is responsible for providing some financial assistance/support. [See Canon 6:2(a)(1)]

If further financial support is needed to cover other non-tuition expenses, special requests may be made to the nominee/postulant’s assigned COM-D contact person. In all cases, the person is required to pay some amount for their education and accompanying expenses and that can be determined on a case-by-case basis

The Rev. Caleb Tabor

Young Adult Missioner, Episcopal Campus Ministry-Raleigh, and Co-chair, COM-D

The Rev. Tabor previously served as vicar of St. Cyprian’s, a bilingual congregation in Oxford, North Carolina. He was educated at Elon University, Emory University and Virginia Theological Seminary. Originally from Efland, North Carolina, he has settled down close to home in Durham, where he lives with his husband. Theology, history, coffee, creative writing and good drag shows are just a few of the things keep him occupied in his spare and not-so-spare time.
