Thursday Night Program: “A Case for Love”

November 21, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

6 p.m., Film screening (no livestream)
8:30 p.m., Q&A with Brian Ide and Bishop Michael Curry (will be livestreamed)

This year began with a one-day, church-wide event: the debut of “A Case for Love,” a documentary by director Brian Ide that featured then-Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and examined whether or not love, specifically unselfish love, is the solution to the extreme societal and political divide facing the U.S. The film weaved together different individual narratives yet compelled us to consider our common humanity.

The response across The Episcopal Church, and the momentum only grew throughout the year. And now it’s coming to the 209th Annual Convention.

Join us for the traditional Thursday Night Program, in the Salem Ballroom at the Benton Convention Center, which will feature a screening of “A Case for Love,” followed by a live Q&A session with director Brian Ide and Bishop Curry.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with the screening, and the live Q&A begins at 8:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.

Note: Because of the terms of “A Case for Love”’s new distribution agreement, the screening of the film will not be livestreamed, only the 8:30 p.m. post-screening session with Brian Ide and Bishop Curry.

If you would like to watch the film ahead of time, or at home while the in-person screening is taking place, “A Case for Love” is now available to rent on all cable, satellite and digital rental outlets. Learn more at acaseforlovemovie.com.

If you are in the Winston-Salem area on November 21, we hope you will join us!
