The Rev. David Umphlett Called to Holy Trinity, Greensboro
The Rev. David Umphlett, rector of St. Mary's, High Point, has accepted the call to become the next rector of Holy Trinity, Greensboro. Umphlett has been the rector of St. Mary's since 2009 and has served the wider Diocese in a number of ways, including as member of the Board of Directors for the Hospice of the Piedmont, member of the Standing Committee, liturgical officer for the Diocese of North Carolina and member of the Diocese of North Carolina Fair Share Appeals Board.
We are grateful for his ministry at St Mary's and wish Umphlett, his wife, Lorinda, and their sons every blessing as he enters his new call here in the Diocese.
O God of unchangeable power and eternal light: Look favorably on your whole Church, that wonderful and sacred mystery; by the effectual working of your providence, carry out in tranquillity the plan of salvation; let the whole world see and know that things which were being cast down are being raised up, and things which had grown old are being made new, and that all things are being brought to their perfection by him through whom all things were made, your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
