St. Stephen's, Oxford, Calls the Rev. Dr. Vincent J. Kopp as Rector
The people of St. Stephen's, Oxford, have named the Rev. Dr. Vincent J. Kopp as their new rector. Kopp is an Episcopal priest and Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics, School of Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Kopp, a graduate of UNC-CH undergraduate and UNC Medical School, founded Chapel Hill Children’s Clinic in 1985 and completed his anesthesiology residency at UNC-CH in 1992. For almost 40 years, he has practiced pediatrics and anesthesiology in private practice and academic settings. He retired from clinical medicine in January 2016. He initiated his formal theological education at Duke Divinity School in 2013 and completed it at the School of Theology of The University of the South (Sewanee) in a special program designed for second career and dual career ordination candidates in 2018.
