Video Curricula
With the support of a grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, the former School of Ministry produced these courses for use in congregations, and are intended as a stimulus for adult group discussion. The brief programs, usually lasting between 12 and 15 minutes, draw upon the rich human resources of our diocese. Facilitator’s guides for each course are also available for download, as are course evaluations.
All nine courses (more than 35 programs of varying lengths from 5 minutes to 25 minutes) are also available on DVD through the diocesan office in Greensboro. Please contact Patricia Sarazen if you’d like to borrow a DVD series.

HARSH GROUND, HOLY GROUND:
ESTABLISHING THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN NORTH CAROLINA
The colonial history of the establishment of The Episcopal Church in North Carolina is explored through interviews with historians, re-enactments and commentary from our former bishop, the Most Rev. Michael Curry, and the former Bishop of East Carolina, the Rt. Rev. Clifton Daniel III. The roots of our diversity are sown with the first baptisms of a Native American man, Manteo, and a colonial infant, Virginia Dare, while the struggles to establish the church are told through the stories of Clement Hall, Charles Pettigrew and others.
The facilitator’s guide will help to guide your viewing. An additional resource by the Rev. Dr. Brooks Graebner is also available at “The Anglican Church Building in Colonial North Carolina, 1701-1776: A Study in Frustration.“
This 25-minute video was produced by Minnow Media.
