Flu (H1N1) Preparedness
and the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina

Bishop Curry photo This week's video message is a conversation about the flu season preparedness and our churches with Dr. Peter Morris, Medical Director of Wake County Human Services. There are two versions of the conversation: a five (5) minute version (brief summary) and a longer version with more church specific information.  Please note that the sound quality of the longer version is not as good as the brief version. Additionally, two links are included below with more information. The first is the direct link to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The second is a downloadable poster of recommended precautions prepared by the Episcopal Church Medical Trust.

If the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the North Carolina public health office determine that the situation has changed, warranting more stringent precautions, I will formally notify all clergy and Senior Wardens of any suggested, authorized or mandated changes in sacramental and other pastoral ministries.

The precautions outlined by Dr Morris and by the Medical Trust of the Church Pension Group represent the prudent and sensible advice of public health officials at this time.
