Committee on the Diaconate to Host Informational Teas

The Committee on the Diaconate is hosting informative meetings, called "Teas," that will share the ministries of Deacons and highlight the process of becoming a deacon. The first Tea is Sunday, February 28, 4:30 pm, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Greensboro.

A deacon is ordained, but is not a priest. They discern a call with the support of their clergy and congregations, serve internships in local parishes, and, guided by the diocesan ordination process with the support of the Commission on Ministry and the Bishop. After ordination, they are assigned to a congregation or other ministry of the diocese, working to model for the people, and to lead them into, the servant ministry of Jesus.
