An anti-racism seminar: Seeing the Face of God in Each Other will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009.
Facilitators from the Bishop's Committee for Racial Justice and Reconciliation (The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina) will lead the seminar, utilizing interactive communication exercises, videos, and small group discussion topics to explore how institutional and systemic racism impede our ability to create an inclusive community. Your participation is essential if we are to engage in the self-examination and structural analysis needed to continue our efforts to build a community in which all human beings are respected as people of dignity and worth. Please don’t miss this opportunity to broaden and strengthen your commitment to embracing our differences and celebrating our uniqueness as we build Christ’s inclusive community based on justice, peace, and loving respect for the dignity of us all. Past participants in this training have left enthusiastic and energized about what they could do both personally and professionally to heal the affliction of racism that continues to infect our world, our communities, and our churches.
